For more than 20 years, Jeff has developed analysis and optimization
tools for forests, operations, sawmills, and timberland investors
including several R packages, and has co-authored "Forest Analytics
with R'' for the Springer Use-R series. He has a Bachelors of Science
in Forestry from Humboldt State University, and an MS and PhD, in
Forest Biometrics and Forest Engineering from Oregon State
University. As president of Forest Informatics, Jeff is obsessed with,
analyzing data from, developing tools for, and presenting
collaborative, geek-friendly stories and solutions for forests,
foresters, and forest owners. He's a Wiley Science Advisor, and
regularly contributes to the journal Science.
