Senior Manager of Citizen Science, North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences
Raleigh, NC
I am a great lover of aquatic insects and use my blog to communicate information about them to the masses. My hope is to make people more familiar with the sorts of things that aquatic insects DO for them, the reasons why we can't do without them, as well as to simply appreciate the inherent coolness of this fascinating group of insects. I am also pro-clean water and have done a lot of water quality research and I use my blog as a platform for my citizen science project dealing with dragonfly swarming behaviors and migration. I like anything biology related though, especially insect, cephalopod, and bat research. In another life, I would have become a graphic designer, a macrophotographer, or a full-time science educator. Thankfully, I get to do a bit of all of these things in my current job!
